Description Product Overview Mapei Mapetex SEL is a specialised reinforcing fabric used in conjunction with cementitious waterproofing membranes such as Mapelastic systems. Manufactured from continuous polypropylene fibres using a needle-punched process, it is designed to enhance the mechanical performance of waterproofing layers. The macro-holed structure (approx. 1mm holes) allows the membrane to fully penetrate and bond between layers, creating a reinforced system with improved toughness, elongation, and crack-bridging performance. Mapetex SEL is particularly suited to areas subject to movement or stress, where standard membranes may be at risk of cracking or failure. It is lightweight, easy to cut and install, and conforms to a wide range of substrate profiles.
