- The traditional Topper’s Mountain white wine blend The assemblage or composition of Topper’s Mountain Bricolage Blanc varies every year, as it always compiles the best varietal results of the vintage. The 2015 contains four classic French grape varieties: Chardonnay, which brings body and structure to the blend, Petit Manseng adds robust texture, and the Gewürztraminer adds complex aromas and flavors. Finally, the Sauvignon Blanc adds freshness. Sauvignon Blanc and Petit Manseng were fermented in small oak barrels, Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer in stainless steel tanks. And this is how the Bricolage Blanc from Topper’s Mountain Wines tastes Topper’s Mountain Bricolage Blanc is an exceptional blend of Chardonnay (46%), Sauvignon Blanc (30%), Gewürztraminer (16%) and Petit Manseng (9%), which offers a delicious, complex range of flavours ranging from apples, green pears, ripe gooseberries, peaches, rose water and macadamia nuts. On the palate, this white wine is rich and well structured. There are ripe citrus fruits, such as pomelo, grapefruit, lime or red orange. But there’s more to come: ripe peaches, lychee, a hint of honey and vanilla. The acidity of this noble wine is juicy and delicate, the finish impressively long and characterized by grapefruit.
