- The traditional Topper’s red wine blend The composition or assemblage of Topper’s Mountain Bricolage Rouge varies in each vintage, as it compiles the best grape variety results of a vintage. The 2012 contains 60% Tempranillo, a popular Spanish variety that adds its freshness and ripe red berry flavors to the blend. Nebbiolo and Tannat (both 15%) are responsible for the backbone of the wine, while the 10% northern Italian Barberas provide freshness. This exceptional red wine has been aged for 24 months in old French barriques. And this is how the Bricolage Rouge from Topper’s Mountain Wines tastes The Topper’s Mountain Bricolage Rouge is an exciting blend of Tempranillo (60%), Nebbiolo (15%), Tannat (15%) and Barbera (10%), which offers an exotic variety of ripe raspberries, rose petals, mulberries, cinnamon, coffee and aromas of dark chocolate. Rich, powerful aromas of ancient spices, boysenberries and blackcurrants balance with a range of velvety tannins and finely annoying acidity. The long finish is accompanied by black pepper and dried herbs. This cuvée is undoubtedly unique.
