Description Easy-Form Open Cell Backer Rod is a compressible cylindrical polyurethane foam. It is used as a substrate for cold-applied sealants in expansion/construction joints and for sealing buildings. The foam does not contain heavy metals, plasticizers, or freons. The advantages of using an Easy-Form Open Cell Backer Rod are the elimination of degassing through the sealant and the faster curing time of the sealant. Easy-Form Open Cell Backer Rod is available in grey and contains no flame retardants. Rod diameters range from 10 mm to 50 mm. It is recommended that Easy-Form Open Cell Backer Rod be installed in joints with a minimum compression of 25% to improve its barrier properties.
